If you haven't kept up with the Valentines Day event, it goes like this:
- There's two people in Flaris who are looking for hearts, one good, one evil.
- They each need 100 heart pieces from the masquerpet Love Thief.
- In return, they'll give a you a ticket. Whichever side has the most hearts will get a greater box for each ticket, and the other side gets a lesser box for each ticket.
- You'll also be given a Chocolate of Friendship for each 100 hearts you turn in
The Love Thieves are everywhere. I'm not exaggerating. I was collecting hearts earlier and I had to take screenshots of the chaos:
and then when I got a bit closer to the pile of them..
I picked up about 50 hearts from this one single pile of Love Thieves!
So far I've invested all of my hearts into the good side; I hope I'm lucky, haha. (Note: It would be a good idea to get rid of all your hearts before February 23rd. That's when the event ends!)

Oh yeah, here's a bit of information about the Chocolate of Friendship:

Now on to the newer events!
Dice Roll: Ever wanted to feel really broke? Gamble your money here! Even if you win, later you'll probably gamble that away too. Generally if I play it, it's just for fun, and I play it only once.
I look at playing dice like this:
given that you bet evenly on the dice and the probability is the same as a normal die:
1 die - 1/6 success rate - 400% profit

1 die - 1/6 success rate - 400% profit
2 dice- 1/3 success rate - 150% profit
3 dice- 1/2 success rate - 66% profit
4 dice- 2/3 success rate - 25% profit
5 dice- pointless for this case
6 dice- pointless for this case
I may try writing it up later seeing if there's an optimal amount of penya and spread to bet on, but one thing is for sure, this thing is designed to take more money than it gives. I still like it though. The fact that the GM's try to fight inflation is good new to me.

Rock-Paper-Scissors: I'm not one for gambling my money away, but I do enjoy the Rock-Paper-Scissors. Here's how you actually go about getting the tickets:
- Go fight masquerpets above level 15 that is near your level.
- Take 5 of the snowflakes and 100,000 penya to the Mayor in Flaris.
- Trade in the snowflakes and money for a RPS coupon.
You can play the Demian standing next to the mayor in Rock Paper Scissors.
There's always a few items down on the list that I find useful (like the Mysterious Pills or Scrolls of Sprint) and I can farm and sell the snowflakes too. The sad thing is that you have to gamble your current wins in order to progress!
| No structural damage done to rock. :P |
You can expect that the chances for winning per ticket will be:
1 win - 50%
2 wins - 25%
3 wins - 12.5%
4 wins - 6.25%
5 wins - 3.125%
6 wins - 1.562%
7 wins - 0.78%
8 wins - 0.39%
9 wins - 0.l95%
10 wins - 0.097%
or 1/2^n where n is the number of wins
I went and earned about 200 mysterious pills and 75 Scrolls of Sprint with out 80 RPS tickets; otherwise, I just sold the tickets or snow crystals. Enjoy these events, they provide a really nice way to rack in (and lose) money!
Happy FlyFFing!
Also, It's Sol Not Hibiki provided a cool post on the event; I encourage you to check it out!
