FlyFF fanart from Bablih!

Sorry about not updating the past month. School is back and session and I'm working hard, so it leaves no time for blogging (I've only managed to log in every other day or so for the recent events).

I was lucky and won some free FlyFF fanart from Bablih on her facebook page, and it is done incredibly well!
The disgruntled aibatt is awesome.

Interested in having your FlyFF character drawn or seeing more of her art? Go and like her facebook page here!

She also has a blog, with content from different games as well as more of her artwork. (There's also a link at the bottom of the blog for future reference!)

I still have a few weeks before I can do some serious posting. Be patient. :)

GM Kooro's Colosseum Challenge event and update!

I was really hoping to see an event had nothing to do with FlyFF World Championship, but I guess that would be too much, haha. I really haven't considered doing anything from the FWC events, and I'm sure 95% of other FlyFF players feel the same way.

The players did get a long EXP event (although probably too long) and I am definitely making use of the FLY, FOR, FUN, FWC, 2011 cards. I even tried leveling at the Asuras while I farmed for them (bad idea).

Merc and I were destroying those Azuras. :)

Even though these events are going on, I'm still itching for just a simple event, like say, a Mocomochi hunt. Tanuki could use the couple rings too; they're only priced at about 20M right now, and I can only assume they'll go up.

So even though I'm at 120 and 99.99%, I still haven't gone to master. I think I'm going to hang out here for a while and find some more people to help.

I tanked for a guildie while I was finishing up my daily logins. Even though he brought the mercenary along to be his leech, I snatched her and got a pupil. She's awesome! Most of my pupils don't even bother talking to me, and then they quit playing after about 2 days. It's good to see that she's an exception.

FWC card and rain events!

With the past 2 months of constant EXP bonuses, the last few weeks have definitely seemed a little slow! I guess they expected this and packed some amps in the Play for Rewards event.

A few days ago, I received my 3x R Amps in my mail, and I was so eager to use them. I had already crawled up to 117, and I only needed a few more levels until I became a master. Last time when I was training with HipHopBarbie, I was at the Vile Thorns in Traesia, so I thought that'd be a good place to start.

Traesia is awesome.
The Vile Thorns are actually a little frustrating! I feel like the Captain Azuras have a lot lower block rate then these guys. After I leveled once, I decided to move on to the Blackweb Shades.

This was the last thing I killed before I got 120 and 99.99%!
These guys weren't too bad. The Blackweb Shade has a double strike, as well as a pretty high block rate.

The drop rate for the event cards was abysmal though. I seem to have this problem in Coral Island too. Not only do no quest items drop in Traesia, but any event items seem to drop rarely here too. I must have trained in there for about 10 hours, and I didn't get much more than a handful of cards.

Oh well, the EXP was pretty amazing! It did feel really slow. I can't imagine doing this in the tower or Volcane dungeon with no EXP boosts. That's really hardcore!

Now I'm going to relax for a while before I go to master. I think I'll at least wait until my R amps run out. I don't like using them too much, haha.

Happy FlyFFing!

A quick update

Hello there!

A little update: as of yesterday, the 'Summer of EXP' event ended. I can't even begin to tell you how much longer leveling feels right now.

After all the leveled was done, my characters:

Skooma (BP) - 117
MoonSugar (Bow Jester) - 78
Antille (RM) - 89
Hawke (Yoyo Jester) - 72

were the only ones who leveled.

I know I haven't introduced either of my Jesters, but that time will come soon!

I spent the last few days of the EXP event leveling Hawke, trying to get as much done before the event was over, and I happened to run into a Seraph while I was training. The buffs were AMAZING.

So awesome.
The buff time is so crazy! I was pretty happy when my pure STR BP got a 9 minute buff with some INT vagrant gear, but 34 minutes?! I'm not even close, haha.

Doing some 'leet' damage! (Sorry, I couldn't resist..)

I used the monsters in the Saint Morning dungeon for leveling from 58-67. Although when I say monsters, I mean 90% Mushillizer and 10% Cardpuppets. The Mushillizer (during the 2.5x event) gave me about 6-9% EXP per kill, through most of those levels! With his really fast spawn time, leveling up that much didn't take more than a few hours.

__________________________________________________________________________________

Last week, the coolest thing happened. I logged into S2 to finish off the last bit of my daily logins and I bumped into someone named MercOfDoom:

yesssss. :) (Merc is a total beast, too.)
I was genuinely suprised when they mentioned my blog! No one's ever said anything about it in-game, or even know that I had a blog, so this was an especially cool experience. Definitely made my day, haha.

Skooma, AnnIe, and MercOfDoom.

Then my friend AnnIe showed up, and we all chatted for a bit. It's really a nice change of pace going from the mid-levels (60-90) or so, where sometimes people you meet may never log in again, to the higher levels where there's lots of people you recognize that are on. It makes the game so much more enjoyable.

I'm excited to see what kind of events we may get soon!

Oh cool, maintenance! Wait, where's my guild??

So I logged in after maintenance to start the 'Play for Rewards' stuff, and then when I went to see if our guild notice had changed,

Wait, what? I got kicked out of my guild? It was lots of fun too! I was pretty ticked because I hadn't even gotten an email, but then I realized it could have been an accident.

That was until I saw LadySuburu.

She's the leader of a prominent guild in Tanuki, but wait, she's guildless too?! Did I miss some kind of important update?

(Edit: Turns out this was a fun and nifty bug, who would have guessed? :) You can go here to read some more about it in the FlyFF forums.)

Hope this gets remedied ASAP.

Play for Rewards!

http://flyff.gpotato.com/?m=community&a=features&id=7700

So it's been about 5 minutes since they've announced the new event that is supposed to run up until August 16th.
Look at those rewards!! Are they even sane!?

I am... speechless.

Status update and FWC EXP event!

Just when I reach level 108, we been beat to death with EXP events and massive amps sells. At least, it seems like it to me. Everyone else keeps talking about buying 5x Q-Amps and then getting to Hero in a week. That's such a waste of money! I've been slowly leveling, but at least I'm getting there.

Right now we're in two months of EXP events, because of the FlyFF World Championship (Something I have no hope to attend, haha).

I'm actually 113 now, but I don't have a picture  for it.

The leveling events on the weekend went really well! I went to Traseia with my guild leader, HipHopBarbie, and managed to level twice in two hours. If it wasn't for Nami3's (Tanuki's previous lord) 50% EXP boost she gave us, I'm sure it would have been much slower.

I also ran into a really weird glitch while I was in the tower. I tried to buff myself, but I equipped a lightning 2% card!

what?!

It fixed itself once I relogged, but it was really weird to see.

I hope we get a good box event soon. I think I'm satisfied with the leveling for now, and I kind of need some money to work on my Rody suit.

Happy FlyFFing!

awesome event sunstone drop but no servers to play it on!!

So we've been given an awesome pair of events, the 50% drop increase and the event sunstone drop. Combine this with a treasure hunting skill, and you can pick up stacks of sunstones within a few hours! The problem is, there are NO servers to log into for Tanuki! We lost server 1 a few days ago, and server 2 followed shortly after. Server 3 went down about 12 hours ago, and just now we've lost server 4.

Tanuki 1-1 - offline, Tanuki 1-2 - offline, Tanuki 1-3 - offline,  Tanuki 1-4 - offline

I had just gathered a party and was about to use the last few hours of my redscroll and party skill stacking scroll, oh well!

Happy FlyFFing (for those who have servers!)

What a mess...

GM Kooro - A completely late post about our new GM.

I know it's been about a month since he was introduced here, but at least I got around to it! I have quite a few screenshots of the shenanigans he pulled before V17 came out, and I had a blast as well!

It was hard to get a picture, because everyone stands
on the GM's when they come visit. xD

For the first few days he taunted us with global shouts and then spawned Monument of Deaths in the Arena. If you've never fought one, don't. They're so frustrating! They have a ton of health, and don't take much damage. I haven't even seen them drop anything!
They don't attack, so at least they won't kill you!
GM Kooro then proceeded to spawn a Clockworks in the Saint Morning old arena. It must have sucked for the low level just running by the place, haha.
The Clockworks has some cool attacks; aside this one
I had never fought one before, so it was an interested experience.
Afterwards, he chatted with us for a while, told the beggars he wouldn't give out free stuff, and disappeared while he spawned some Mocomochi (plural of Mocomochi is Mocomochi?) for us to kill.

They didn't drop anything! Bah!

It was fun watching our new GM introduce himself; I'm looking for to seeing him as the months go on!

Also, if you haven't checked out the FlyFF Barbie blog, you should give it a read! She's updates very frequently and plays on the Tanuki server. Give her a shout in-game. :)

New server names

It seems like it's somewhat official, the Lawolf/Aibatt server will be called Tanuki, so I guess I'm soon to be a Tunikian.

Straight from RabidFish:

Ignore the names or revel in them, you really did have a say despite how many of you all feel that the results are skewed; the only proof you need are the the posts and responses that many of you made in both this thread and in the petition. Believe me, that is a powerful thing when it comes to online communities and videogames.
All that's left is to move forward, and to define yourselves as you see fit and you can do both with all of the new people you're going to meet, and with all of the new relationships, good or bad, you're bound to make.
We personally look forward to calling you Mocomochians, Tanukians, Lykanians, Kargonites, and Yettese and we do hope that the majority of you will like the names as much as we do. We would have enjoyed any of the options to be perfectly honest, so long as you made the decision for your new Flyff homes.
Once again, thank you for your feedback, thank your voice.
-RabidFish

The particular quote is from the the 'Name your new server poll' thread.

I look forward to seeing you Aibatt guys soon!

'Buur Returns!' event and update!

So now that the crazy 2.5EXP event is over, I'm completely burnt out from training! I feel like I need to just sit back and enjoy some vending/events. I managed to level up my RM to 89, and Skooma made it quite a ways too! Check it out:

Started at the Pink Roaches.. They're quite tough.

Decided to go to Azria, as it was hard to keep Antille from dying.

The drops were really amazing for this place, I probably earned the money I spent in tickets. I also got a nice sunstone + moonstone combo here.

Sunstone + Wind B combo.
I think I'm just going to play around and kill giants for a bit. :)
The Azria drops were amazing, during the week I must have picked up 50 suns and moons. Many of the drops sold for 800k-1M to the NPC, and the green pieces sold from my shop quickly too!

But now that I'm done leveling for now, I've been busy hunting a good Rody set and killing these Buurs, and here's the current table for the drops:
ball of crown, egg, pet tamer box, gold box, gPotato, ballon, ball

Until then,

Happy FlyFFing!

(Update: I fixed the giant post, I evidently posted it and then resubmitted it as a draft, so it appeared as a page that couldn't be accessed. It can be seen here. )

V17 and other news!

Sorry about the delay, Blogger hasn't let me log in for the last week, but that did give me some more time to play FlyFF. :)

The GM's have finally announced the process for renaming/purging character before the upcoming server merges. Much to my dismay, it's being done strictly on a character age basis. Since my characters are only about a year old and their names are taken on Aibatt as well, I fear I'll have some renaming to do, which is quite unfortunate.

Personally, I wish they'd do the renaming by last login, and then character age. They could simply check the last login, and if they've been online in the past 6-12 months, use character age to determine the renamed character, otherwise, force the inactive account to be renamed. I really don't like the idea of possibly losing my account names to someone who quit a year ago!

Regardless, I'm going to not let it affect me too much. I'm sure I'll pick out another name I like when the time comes (But still..).
________________________________________________________________________________

Guess who was there to greet us at the beginning of the V17 release?
No, no, not Gimp, Cromiell!

When I logged in to V17 for the first time, I noticed a few of the aesthetic changes (the splash screens being redone, glow, etc) and I enjoyed the new feel. The splash screens look really nice, and much of the quest text is coherent now (It was REALLY hard to comprehend before). I haven't looked any of the big stuff yet, but I'm sure I'll get to see it eventually.

The big thing everyone has been fussing about is the glow. My +10 fire stick on my Ringmaster went from flames leaping off of the weapon, to a faint glow, but on the other hand, by +8 water knuckle went from a tiny ball on the front, to THIS:
I like the new glow art. The old stuff didn't vary much, but the new stuff definitely looks more unique.

and here's my fire stick. :(
No more flames. :(

But, up until the server merge, we have a 2.5x EXP event , +300 attack power event, as well as a login event (only until June 1st), so it's obvious what I'll be doing!

It's been a while since I've updated the status of my characters, so I'll go ahead and do that:

Altaius (Elementor)        - level 84
Artaius (Blade)              - level 80
Skooma (1v1 BP)         - level 80
Arthfael (INT AoE BP) - level 74
Amusei (Knight)            - level 72
??????? (Bow Jester)    - level 70
Antille (Ringmaster)       - level 62
Maik (Psykeeper)         - level 60

Phew! I think that covers them all. I've leveled each of them a bit so far, but now I want to focus on Skooma and Antille for the duration of the event.

Happy FlyFFing!

Clockworks Butler Invasion event!

I'm finally off and relaxing for the summer. I spent the first week cleaning up and combing over the blog, and I think I've managed to clean a few things up! Also, I spent a little while creating the spring/summer theme for the blog, so I hope it's not too awful, haha.

Also, it's good to be playing FlyFF again! :)

Such an awesome NPC design!

The clockworks butlers are my favorite to kill. I never had much luck with the Saphyrans or many of the others, but these guys have dropped some nice loot for me.

Needless to say, in Lawolf, it's been pretty hard to hunt for them; they don't spawn too frequently like the zombies, and many of the better spots are constantly camped out.

There's some other nice items that these guys drop, but I'm not going to add them until I've picked at least one up.

I'm attempting to earn a bit of money for a nice Legendary Golden Gloves for Skooma, and I can't think of any better way than the events! Besides, it's always good to take a break from grinding.

I have a new character to introduce to you, but I'll save that for another time.

Giant Drops

I started working on a giant drop table, simply because I wanted to let others know which ones work out best for me. Logging these was kind of a pain and there's still a TON to do, but I'll make some progress on it later, I'm sure.

Update: Just a little longer..

Hey again, it's been about 2 months since I've updated, but it's simply been because of school. I finish the semester in about a week, so I'm greatly looking forward to returning to FlyFF.

Why am I bothering posting a week before I come back? Well, if you haven't been keeping up with the forums, there's been a large number of account compromises, and a few things seem off about it.

I don't think most of these come from any kind of phishing attack, so it kind of warrants a bit of questioning.

I don't really feel like reiterating the same old 'don't share. .. blah blah' but you can go here if you need to read about it.

The thing I'd like to mention is that the FlyFF servers do not (well, at least shouldn't) store your password.
It's always a good idea to create passwords that are considered strong (uppercase, lowercase, numerics, and other characters) and keep it at least 8 characters (preferably 12+). In the event that the password data you send to the server is compromised, you can at least try to thwart any attempts to crack it.

Sorry if the post bores you, but it's good information to know.

Happy FlyFFing!

(Note: I'm not saying I know anything about FlyFF's password system, it's just general practice to store the hash of a password, and not the actual password itself, and so the password should be sent from the client to the server as a hash, that's all.)

Yangus's Monster Spawn!!

(First off, I'll apologize in advance for the heavy load time on this page, but it can't be helped!)

So it was Friday at about 3:30PM and I happened upon the phrase, "Monster Spawn at old arena in 5 minutes!". I was a bit curious what was meant. I'd seen the GM's do it once or twice, but I hadn't actually participated in one before, especially one funded by a player! (I also wasn't aware that the structure right outside Saint City was the old arena, either! But I found it by luck, stumbling outside the stone walls of Sain City).

I headed over expecting to see someone unleashing a few giants and normal mobs, but I had to wait a little bit before I saw anything.

Before I show you the pictures that I took of the event, let me explain how these Ball of Crown and Giant Monster Ball items work. Firstly, you are not allowed to spawn these things in the towns, they have to be a ways off, which made the old arena the perfect location. Secondly, when spawned, they are only attackable by the summoner's party, until he/she logs off.

Anyway, a guy named Yangus (see title :P) stood onto the platform and spawn a few monsters back to back. A few leyenas and drillers run about, nothing big. I was kind of hoping for some stronger monsters to make it a little interesting,
source
Nothing too big, but it was pretty cool. Yangus ran towards the center and said, "Ok, good to go". Then all I could do was take screen shots of what was in front of me.

source

source

After fighting for what seemed to be 15-20 minutes, we had cut down all the monsters that were spawned. The pictures don't do it justice. About one-third of the monsters are hard to see, simply because  they're piling all over each other to kill the guy in the center. Not to mention I couldn't even take a screenshot that would fit all the giants on the screen. I'd say he spawned at least 50 giants and another 300 normal mobs.

When we were done, Yangus told the younger crowd some stories about the features of the old FlyFF. It was interesting to hear how the game has changed over the years.
source
and then, before we parted, a final screenshot to commemorate the event.

source From left to right: Redneck, HiiiTMaaaN, Yangus, Skooma, HipHopBarbie, LuiaLover, FsRmGirlNL

It was completely awesome. Thanks for the fun event! Such an event is extremely hard to pull off, but Yangus pulled it off well.

Personally, I'd like to think about a catchier name than what I have in the title already, any suggestions?

Happy FlyFFing!

White Day event and the Buur Event Monster Spawn!

White Day event:
Why'd he accept them?!

It seems like the Love and Hate spirits are back in Flaris again! Except the Hate Spirit is.. well.. a softie.

He's hammering without an anvil. That has to be hard.
He wants you to help out the angel who's given him chocolates. How? Try picking up lots of trash. Err, materials to make ribbons with. You'll need 100 of each of the four materials and you'll receive something in return.(You can also get different colored corsages by trading 500 of a particular item into the guy standing next to her. They are tradeable, but they do not have an effect.)

I think it's an interesting event, although I'll probably just be selling the event items I pick up. I'm pretty drained from the penya sink events.

(Edit: I totally lied about just selling the items. I ended up exchanging the items for a box containing:
  • 5 event sProtects
  • 5 event aProtects
  • 1 event sunstone
  • 1 event moonstone
If you choose to do the quest as a female, instead of the above event box, you'll receive an event black ribbon that goes into the CS hat slot. It looks like
this:

It gives you 5% run speed!

(Note: You can only do either event one time per character.)
______________________________________________________________________________

Buur Event Monster Spawn:

I got it to hold still for a bit,
and then I came up behind it..
This is probably the third new masquerpet we've had recently, and I definitely prefer the Buur over the Mocomochi. Many of the drops I got while trying to make a quick event table were nice (I could use them or at least sell them easily), and also like the other two masquerpets, the Buur looks well done.

Before I go farm some more goods, here's the table so far:

The link to the latest post dealing with the Buur is here, as well as here is the drop info I've collected:

A quick update

There's a lot of stuff going on right now! First off, FlyFF's official blog is hosting quite a few nice events, which you can see here! We also not only the gambling events going, but two more on top of that!

Go For Broke! : Lawolf is looking a bit more balanced with this event running. I've noticed the Spros/Gpros dropping by 3-4M, which is still a ways from where it needs to be, but it's nice start. There's also tons and tons of sunstones and moonstones in the shops. I was actually shocked when I saw this, because a few weeks ago there was none anywhere.

I decided to play a bit more since the Snow Crystals have been selling for about 30-50K each lately. Check it out!

So close to the wings!
But I had to stop there. I wouldn't have been too happy if I lost at that point. The prizes before it were just event sunstones(x2, x5, x12) and super star candies (x2, x6 I think), and I didn't really want either of those.

I tried playing Rock-Paper-Scissors a bit later, but I've probably lost 4/5 times since then, haha.

The dice game is still going too. Does anyone play this? I still do occasionally, but I find the RPS much more fun. :)

Premium Box Drop:  These boxes are nice; simply because I can use most the stuff inside. They don't sell for much though, 2-3M on Lawolf.

Mocomochi Spawn: I love Mocomochi's. Not the sound they make when shopkeepers leave them out, mind you. That squeal gets on my nerves, and it's so frequent!
Try squealing now! :P

That's it for now, so,
Happy FlyFFing!

(I've noticed there's been the same penya spammers for about a week now, So I took some screenshots and reported them. I encourage you to do the same if you see them sitting there for more than a few days!)

(Also: I do plan on changing the blog theme to something more spring-like on the 22nd, so it isn't going to stay winter forever. :) )
