Happy Halloween!

Halloween is upon us! Let the festivities begin!
Thanks to Skalman, AshiiDove, Sellese, shaman123, and butangi for the screenshots!

Getting three out of five to say "Happy Halloween!" is  hard enough, so I just stuck with this one. I had originally told them to shout it, and behold! I'm the only one not shouting, haha.

Have a happy Halloween even if you aren't trick-or-treating/Zombie hunting. It's equally fun to drink excessive amounts of apple cider and lounge around!

28 Vagrants Later + New Zombie CS!

Now that the ghoul event is over, we get another undead themed event, the 28 Vagrant's Later.

This event has gotten me pretty excited. I hope I can take advantage of it, although, it seems like everyone is taking advantage of it. I could hardly find any zombies myself!

The first stage of the event is to collect gas cans to fuel a chainsaw for 24 hours. Why do you need gas? I have absolutely no idea. I filled that thing up, and started swinging furiously. I guess no one showed Skooma how to use a chainsaw.

(Note: You don't have to fight the zombies with a chainsaw, but you need to do the chainsaw quest in order to get the zombie hunter quest!)

Now once you've turned in your 10 gas tanks to Romero (Surely coincidental with the name George Romero -- who has done a ton of zombie films). He'll give you the task of hunting 50 male and 50 female zombie in exchange for one token (Each zombie drops a Zombie Box although these are not the same as the Zombie Hunter Box!). Brooks will trade you some nice prizes for your tokens. Wait.. Brooks? Like Max Brooks? The guy who wrote The Zombie Survival Guide? I'm probably reading too much into it.

There's also a mad scientist named Kirkman who will build you a special CS pet if you manage to collect all 6 pieces. (Robert Kirkman wrote The Walking Dead comics; care to guess what it's about?)

Regardless, it seems like a fun event with some fun prizes. I've got my eye on one of those capes you can get from Brooks.

Anyway, enjoy the 28 Days Vagrants Later event!

Before I go, here's the table for the Zombie Box(235 boxes total):

(Note: I have no clue what the penya does, I've tried dropping and picking it up but it seems to disappear. I couldn't double click and activate it and it sells to the NPC for 1 penya. xD)

Zombie pieces are currently selling for 5-8M each. I'd wager they'll drop more by the end of the event.
Zombie boxes are about 150-250k at the moment.
(Note: If you picked up the zombie piece from the December 22nd Masquerpet Madness event, there is no NPC to trade the pieces to. Hold onto it in case it might be used again, or just get rid of it.

The zombie spawn times are akin to the mocomochi's, which also means they're randomized to an extent.

Ghoul event, Level up, and +Attack power event

If you haven't logged onto FlyFF in a while, you're really missing out! The events given to us so far feel geared towards lower levels, but those are some of my favorites. Last week we were introduced to the +Attack Power event and the Level Up! event.
The +Attack Power event gives a global 200 attack boost to everyone. It doesn't really make a huge difference to my blade, but for some of the lower hitters it is a very welcome event. :)

The Level Up! event basically gives you gifts for leveling up to certain points. The prizes are quite nice, especially the level 17 cloak box.

Wednesday we were introduced to The Haunting of the Ghastly Ghouls event. It's one of those hunting events where you run around and kill monsters. I particularly like this one because the spawns seem a little bigger. During rush hours it's near impossible to get anything simply because there's a ton of people hunting.

I decided to try a little statistics table for the two boxes you can open. I'll continue to update the table as I get a larger sample size. Hopefully it'll help you get an idea for what's inside!

The Mia Box event

Go here for Flyffer's Box stuff!

With Tuesday coming to a close, the Mia chance box event is also ending. Somehow I don't tend to have any luck on these events, but they're so fun to do anyway, haha.  I farmed for these boxes for 1 hour a day, each day these week.

I couldn't spend as much time on FlyFF for this event week as I wanted to, but the weekend is coming up and I'll be home. So I hope there's a good event to take advantage of!

Anyway, here's my results:

No grand prize. Ouch. At least I've got plenty of stuff to sell now though! It could be worse; currently, in Lawolf the CS pets are at their cheapest. I've seen plenty Rhisis' Box pets and Mia pets for 75M or so. I'm glad I didn't run around buying these boxes, or I would have been quite disappointed.

Come join me on the forums during maintenance! It's a fun way to win prizes and pass the time! (Just make sure to find the maintenance thread once FlyFF goes down tonight.)

Gianting for fun!

As I'm sure most people know, gianting is a decent way to make money in the higher levels. I'm going to cover  some of my favorites.

The Giant Steel Knight (Level 59):

The Steel Knight may be one of my favorite giants. His drops are even high around 65 and he usually drops 1-2 quest items per kill. He's definitely an easy way to get the quest items if you don't train on the steel knights. He also drops a Gore Necklace+6, which sells for 25-35M. I actually picked up two of these from him, and both were when I was level 65+.

The Giant NuttyWheel (Level 61):

He's nearby the Giant Steel Knight, so he makes a pretty good stopping point if you're going to the Giant Driller. I didn't find anything special about him, except he did drop an ancient shield once (Sadly, I wasn't aware that they sell for 10-15 million and I just NPC'ed it).

The Giant Driller (Level 63):
The Giant Driller is usually the third boss on my rounds before I switch servers. His drops are pretty decent (mostly level 50+ armor and level 60 weapons).

The Giant Volt (Level 65):
This boss is quite interesting (and the fourth on my route). He drops tons of loot as well as +5 rings. He doesn't give up his loot easily though! After he heals, he'll rage and deal a significantly higher amount of damage, as well as he has a high critical rate. This boss can definitely take you down if you're not paying attention!

The Giant Elderguard (Level 67):
This giant is probably the favorite of most people, as the Giant Elderguard drops 6-8 items normally. A Treasure Hunting party could effectively fill your inventory after one kill from this giant. This guy is pretty close to the Giant Volt and literally next to the Giant Garbagepider, which makes him the 5th on my route.

The Giant Garbagepider: (Level 69):
The Giant Garbagepider has similar drops to the Giant Elderguard.  Just do a server hop and repeat unless your inventory is full. He can be a bit tough if you're low level, but he's worth the effort if you can handle him.

(If you look on the map, you can literally just fly over the ridge and be back at the steel knights.)

Some tips to remember:

If you're a mercenary, you'll probably be better of doing this at level 60. It's the last level you can get pang buffs for, so you don't have to hunt for an assist to help you out.

If you're an RM, go find someone to run this gauntlet with you. It's a good way to get a few decent pieces before you go from 50-60.

If you're an assist - have fun! You can do this whenever you're bored. Stonehand pretty much makes you invincible here.

I didn't mention the Mushillizer (level 65) because he's really far out on my circle of giants (Although you can read more the Mushillizer here). You can camp out for him specifically, but he's often crowded because his drops are really nice. Assists/BP's are a bit screwed here. He's not affected by status ailments, so stuns and sneakers don't work on him.

Don't use anything but FUN cards while you giant. You're diminishing your returns! (I'm especially bad at this, haha)

Go have some fun!

The Madrigal Times weekend special!

What in the world does the title mean? I'll tell you! There's quite a few posts I've finished but haven't published yet, so look forward to seeing them throughout the next day or two.

We have yet another box event, which is cool, but I'm really dying for another EXP event or FLY FOR FUN event.
I'd like to get my BP Skooma to the Dekane mines soon, but he needs quite a few more levels..

I also did quite a bit of leveling on Altaius and Skooma:

Skooma leveled from 70 to 72.
Altaius leveled from 76 to 84.

Care to guess what the next post will be on? :)

I'll be sure to publish the next few posts soon. Happy grinding/box hunting!
